Hawaii lifting her tail, as contractions sets in,

Hawaii gets down, as labour begins.

she is restless and walks around all the time.  
   
The first leg is now showing. Hawaii has got up and now you can
  just see there is two legs showing.
   
Hawaii is down again, as the contractions  Holly is out, her legs still rest
take hold ones more and finally the   inside Hawaii. I just go and
 nose of Holly can been seen.  Now we gently pull out Holly's legs, so that
know the foal is in the right position  she don't damage Hawaii's inside,
 to come out and can relax a bit when trying to get up

Holly still trying to get up and now you can see the afterbirth coming out, this normaly takes between 20 minutes to an hour after the birth of the foal, but in this case it is happening while Hawaii is still recovering from giving birth to Holly. Hawaii is up and looking at her daughter, her instinct tells her to eat the afterbirth to clean up after the birth of her foal. However we do go in and clean up after Hawaii and she can get on with the bonding of her foal.
   
Holly is now up and trying to find milk. Holly has found the milk, still very wet and only an hour old, she has managed to find out, where to go for a drink
   
Holly not looking to impressed with the outside world. 2 1/2 hour after birth, Holly is completely dry.
   
Holly is a bit shy, but a beautiful little girl. 3 hours after Holly was born, she is now happy and content. Time for a nap.
