| Highlander's mum just has it all..... One of many impressive mares in our herd, she is tall, with a big frame and correct legs, noble and elegant, but her real qualities can be seen in the power, energy and elasticity of her movements, always uphill and rhythmic.
Her bloodline is outstanding and especially rare in this combination: Her sire Peron junior, son of the world famous and international show jumping star Sixtus (by the unforgotten Habicht) is stamping his offspring on behalf of athletic attributes and powerful movements. As a sire still young but nevertheless with a good reputation. His daughter Phaedra became champion of her grading in 2003. Hightech's dam Helena carries through her sire Kontakt the well known and proven genes of the legendary Julmond, the chief sire at state stud Marbach, where he became a new founder of this South-German warmblood breed.
Second dam Heimlinde and third dam Heimlicht represent the influence of the great competition sires Halali and Donauwind. Halali, sire of the international Grand-Prix-star Kleopatra, became founder of a new, highly respected stallion line, whose members Marduc, Anduc, Herzzauber, Lehndorff's, Hyllos and Solero among others count among the most proven and successful dressage sires, in breeding and competition as well. The world famous Donauwind established his own line and sired high numbers of successful competition horses up to highest level, for example the Olympic gold medal winner and world cup champion Abdullah. Hightech's original mother line, the Heimkehr-family counts today among the most proven and successful competition families of the whole Trakehner breed, with the ability for all levels in all kinds of competitions. The sires Heidedorn, Heimherr (who was successful in international show jumping) and the proven sire Honeur are members of this family, as well as Phantom, the most successful show jumper for the last 5 years. Highlander's Sire Arentino was competed in Prix St. George dressage and did also really well in show jumping. Arentino's Sire Santiago by Wie Ibikus and out of the foundation mare Schwalbelied was Champion of his grading in 1980 and was a very substantial big framed grandson of the legendary stallion Ibikus, which went on to become a very good show jumper. Wie Ibikus himself produced a big number of high successful dressage horses competing up to Grand Prix. Santiago produced some outstanding broodmares and the value can be seen in his offspring's competition results. Arentino's Dam E.St Arktis II presents herself as one of the more valuable broodmares of the Trakehner breed, being a full sister to the stallion Arogno, sire of the stallions Schwadroneur (now dead) and Anky's stallion Partout. Arktis's offspring are doing well in 3-day eventing and dressage competing in Prix St. Georges. Highlander is a wonderful little boy, which has excellent conformation and movements. Unfortunately he was not presented correctly at birth and as his dam was unattended giving birth and did not have any help, Highlander came out ripping through the rectum of his mother. The two vets working on Hightech did manage to stitch the rectum and vulva up the best they could and time will tell if she will be able to have any more foals. We bless our self lucky that she is still with us and this just shows how vital it is that one is there when foaling takes place. We shall keep Highlander at our stud, as he might be the only foal Hightech will have. |
